Lugano, Switzerland, December 14, 2006– BOARD International, the leading global provider of Business Intelligence (BI) and Corporate Performance Management (CPM) toolkit software, has been recognised for its ability to deliver real technology and business benefits to customers in The OLAP Survey 6 by Nigel Pendse.
The survey, the largest independent study of OLAP products worldwide, was conducted across 78 countries and 31 industrial sectors, and analyzes data from 1,679 OLAP software end users. It places BOARD ahead of established brands such as Business Objects, Cognos, Hyperion, MicroStrategy and Microsoft in key areas for the second time.
The global survey highlights that BOARD is number one for support and users experienced 50 per cent fewer performance issues than those using its nearest rival BI solution. They rarely saw unacceptable query times, which not only enhanced user experience but increased productivity.
BOARD was rated number one regarding human resources involved in running and administering OLAP projects, achieving a mean of less than one compared with an average 2.7 for all of the BI tools in the survey. The company was also in the top three for implementation time, which further highlights the success of BOARD’s unique programming-free toolkit that guarantees ease-of-use for both administrators and end-users, ultimately creating user acceptance and “self sufficiency” for service and maintenance.
Ease-of-use for end-users was cited by 40 per cent of BOARD customers as a reason to buy, with ease-of-use for application builders coming in at 38 per cent. This placed BOARD in the top three solutions for ease-of-use.
BOARD had some of the lowest shelfware rates in the survey (15.4 per cent) and performed well with regard to conversion rates after evaluation (77.1 per cent). The company was also in the top three for faster and more accurate reporting and improved business decisions through better sales and marketing analysis.
