Egea's ability to put itself on the service market not only as a supplier, but as a protagonist of local development was the basis of the successes of the company founded in 1956 for the distribution of gas in the City of Alba (CN). Taking advantage of the spaces granted by the liberalization of the energy market, EGEA has expanded its interests beyond its own place of origin. Thanks to EGEA Commerciale, the company from Alba has become one of the first suppliers of light and gas firsts for the industrial world, then small and medium-sized enterprises and, finally, domestic users in Piedmont. Today, the group is a multi-utility company that has expanded its horizons to various sectors linked to public services and energy such as district heating, electricity, renewable energy and urban lighting, as well as environmental services related to urban hygiene up to the integrated water cycle.

The strong growth determined by the business development plan has brought out the need to have a structured flow that allows to analyze and monitor all the indicators of commercial profitability.

Solutions and benefits

The solution proposed to EGEA consisted in the implementation of a Business Intelligence application, and particular attention was paid to the process of analyzing commercial profitability and operational KPIs. Thanks to the new implementation we obtained an automation of the analysis process and full control of the commercial processes, establishing methods of measuring and monitoring the processes for continuous improvement.
